Local police and firefighters will engage in a friendly competition on March 24, from 10 am to 3 pm at Birkdale Village. The Huntersville Fire Department, Huntersville Police Department, and Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Office will compete in the annual Battle of the Badges to collect blood donations for the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, the primary blood supplier to the region’s patients and hospitals serving counties in North and South Carolina.
