National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is a national neighborhood crime and drug prevention event occurring annually on the first Tuesday in August. It is celebrated in numerous cities and towns across the United States. Over the past few decades, National Night Out participation has grown to over thirty-seven million people in over fifteen thousand communities to include all fifty states, US territories and military bases, as well as Canada.
