Over the past year, my family has experienced some of life’s biggest milestones. My daughter gave me my first grandchild, and both of my sons got married. It has been an incredible season of joy, celebration, and change.
Experiencing so much in such a short time has reminded me just how quickly life evolves and how our homes need to evolve with us. Time to pivot!
At ClosetsbyDesign, that’s something I’ve had the privilege of witnessing for more than two decades now. Every family enters a new chapter at its own pace. Sometimes it’s preparing a nursery for a new baby. Other times it’s organizing a playroom, creating a more functional room for growing teenagers, welcoming adult children back home, or downsizing after the kids have started families of their own. No matter the stage, I believe our homes should support the way we live today while making room for what’s next.
Our passion is helping families create spaces that make everyday life easier, less stressful, and more enjoyable. Organization isn’t just about storage; it’s about giving people more time to enjoy their busy lives.
One of the greatest blessings of owning this business has been the relationships we’ve built over the years. In fact, one of our longtime clients recently reached out and said, “You designed our daughter’s nursery, and now she’s 11 years old. We need your help creating a room that works for this next stage of her life.”
Moments like that mean the world to me. It’s incredibly rewarding to know we’ve been part of a family’s story from the very beginning. Watching one generation become the next is just one of the many reasons I love what I do.
I’ve always believed that a home should grow alongside the people who live in it. As our lives pivot, our spaces should reflect those changes in ways that make life more functional, comfortable, and beautiful.
Looking back on this past year, becoming a grandmother has given me an even deeper appreciation for the many seasons of life. That’s why I hope families see home organization as more than simply arranging shelves, drawers, and closets. It’s an opportunity to shape your home so that it reflects the way you live today while supporting the life you’re building for tomorrow.
