On Getting Here
I’ve always believed you don’t really “arrive” anywhere overnight—you build it one day at a time. Sweet Dreams Mattress & Furniture started as a family-driven business, and I’ve been fortunate to grow it alongside my wife, best friend, and business partner, Katy. Over the years, we’ve expanded with the Lake Norman community, but the foundation has stayed the same: show up, work hard, and treat people right.

Family Matters
We call it the “Dream Team” because that’s really what it is … family, friends, and staff all pitching in wherever and whenever they’re needed. It’s very much an “all hands on deck” kind of place, and everyone here is in it together. Katy and I are both involved in the business every day, and we’ve always believed people can tell the difference between something that’s family-run and something corporate. There’s just a different level of care and accountability when it’s personal. Staying family-owned means staying close to the work, close to the team, and close to the customers. At the end of the day, it’s about not losing sight of why we started and building something we’re proud of together.

Our Customers … Our Heart
It may sound cliché, but we’re not just selling mattresses, we’re helping people make an investment in their comfort and their health. We mean and feel this deeply and sincerely. Sleep affects everything we do, so we take that responsibility seriously. My approach has always been pretty simple: no pressure, no rush. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions, taking their time, and finding what actually fits their life, not just what’s on the floor.

Grateful for Our Community
Lake Norman has been a great place to build a business and raise a family, and I don’t take that for granted. We’ve been fortunate to be recognized by the Chamber of Commerce, but what matters most to me is being part of a community that supports local businesses like ours. For Katy and me, being involved locally isn’t something extra we do, it’s part of who we are. We try to give back where we can and stay connected to the people who have supported us over the years.
