Meet Lake Norman’s cutest pets, from playful pups to lovable goats, in this heartwarming collection of reader-submitted pet stories and photos.

Jess’s Paige

This lovable Maltipoo is curious, affectionate, and always ready to brighten someone’s day.

Susan’s Henry

Henry is the eighth Sheep Dog I have fostered or owned. Hence … Henry the Eighth!

Kelly’s Ruby

Ruby is an Australian labradoodle who loves greeting patients at her mom’s office, Birkdale Audiology. She loves going on vacation to the beach!

Sara’s Annie & Erika

These are the sweetest goats you will ever meet! They love people, carrots, and playing in their backyard playground. They always have so much to say… if you understand goat talk!

Jennifer’s Katie Mae

Katie is a goofy chocolate lab with more personality than any dog I’ve met. Full of energy and love.

Whitney’s Bogey

Bogey is so handsome, fun-loving, and truly like a human. He loves every toy he’s ever given and he will bring you one every time he sees you.

Lee’s Copper

Copper is a long-haired piebald dachshund. He was adopted when he was 2 ½ years old from Doxie By Proxy Rescue. He’s now 5 years old and loving life.

Taylor’s Biscuit

Biscuit might just be the cutest golden you’ll see around LKN. He’s turning 11 this year but still has the sweetest personality and the energy of a much younger pup.

Joy’s Sylvie

Sylvie is a two-year-old Labrador with a heart of gold and the mischief level of a cartoon character. She “borrows” anything not nailed down and keeps the local wildlife on high alert. The squirrels probably swap stories about her like she’s an urban legend.

Logan’s Milo Wigglebutt

Milo is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger love for all things Lake Norman. We live in Cornelius, and some of Milo’s favorite spots are Ramsey Creek and Jetton Park, where he loves splashing around in the lake.

Lori’s Cocoa & Norman

Cocoa, my sweet and spirited cockapoo, and Norman, my playful mini goldendoodle named after the beautiful Lake Norman itself, are the perfect duo for the Lake Norman Cutest Pets feature! These two furry friends are inseparable and absolutely adore everything about the lake—from splashing on a big float to boat rides on the lake.

Meghan’s Olly & Rosie

These sweet pups have been by our side through every major milestone. They greeted us as soon as we returned home, the night we got engaged. They were in our wedding, they were wagging their tails patiently for us both days we brought home our boys from the hospital. Totally unaware of how much their lives were going to change. Our boys now love them as much as we do. I can’t imagine a day or milestone without them. They are truly the best.

Taylor’s Kona

Kona is a 3-year-old mini long-haired dachshund with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. Always on alert, he proudly takes his job as household protector very seriously—often announcing every passerby with enthusiastic barking. Beneath that tough-guy attitude, though, Kona is a devoted companion who absolutely adores his humans. When he’s not keeping watch, you can usually find him exercising alongside his owner or happily searching for his next snack—because Kona is definitely a dog who loves his food.

Patsy’s Oakley

Oakley is a rescue from an eight-puppy litter found abandoned along a dirt road in Maiden, NC, right near where our home was under construction, and he quickly stole our hearts after being discovered by chance during a routine stop. Now part of our family for two years, Oakley—named for the oak trees where he was found—has been a loving, playful companion who helped heal our hearts after the loss of our senior dog and continues to bring joy every day.
