Roots in the Flower Shop
“I grew up in my parents’ flower shop in Brooklyn. It opened when I was just five and honestly, it was the heartbeat of our family. Buckets of roses, spools of ribbon, the comings and goings of people celebrating life’s big moments—that was my childhood. Years later, both of my daughters, Jordanna and Janelle, were born while I was still working there. So in many ways, flowers have always been part of my family story.”
A Different Path of Service
“Even though flowers were always around me, I didn’t start out planning to run a floral studio. I worked as an EMT for the New York City Fire Department and later studied nursing. Those jobs taught me empathy, discipline, and how important it is to be present for people during vulnerable moments. No matter where life took me, though, flowers were always my emotional home … they called me back every time.”
When Passion Became a Calling
“Creating with flowers became my way of telling stories. Through Petal Perfections, I get to celebrate weddings, new babies, anniversaries, and even goodbyes. Flowers help people say what words sometimes can’t. That’s what I love most … knowing that something I made helps mark a moment someone will never forget.”

“My daughters inspire me every day. I want them to see that dreams are built with courage, creativity, and consistency. I start each morning with a few quiet minutes to ground myself because I know I can’t pour into others if I haven’t poured into myself first. On a perfect day, I’m surrounded by fresh flowers, creating something beautiful, and knowing that somewhere, a memory will live on through my work. Like many mothers, I’m planting seeds today that I hope will bloom for generations.”
