Choosing People Over Projects
I grew up in Jackson, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University, then moved to Boston to begin a master’s at Tufts University while working in research with the USDA. Over time, I realized I was drawn more to people than projects. A pivotal moment came while working with an oncology fellow who encouraged me toward medicine. I attended medical school at the University of the Caribbean, where I also met my wife.
Family, Balance, and the Joy of Connection
My wife, also a family medicine physician with One Health in Mooresville, is truly my best friend and the love of my life. Together, we’re raising our two daughters, ages 6 and 2, who keep life joyful and grounded. As a busy family, we’ve learned to prioritize connection, and travel has become our favorite way to do that. We’ve taken annual trips to Europe, creating memories our girls already cherish. Closer to home, you’ll often find us on the tennis court, especially our youngest who happily chases balls and keeps us all smiling.
Finding the Right Fit in Lake Norman
We were at a point in our careers where we knew something needed to change. The healthcare environment we were in no longer supported the level of care we wanted to provide or the fulfillment we were seeking as physicians. When we began exploring opportunities in the Charlotte area, we were intentional about finding a practice rooted in community and physician-led values. One Health immediately stood out. Their commitment to patient-centered care, clinician autonomy, and meaningful relationships aligned perfectly with our vision, making the move to the Lake Norman area an easy and rewarding decision.
Spread the Love
I take great pride in being part of a group of providers who are genuinely mission-driven and committed to exceptional community care. I believe in constant self-evaluation and focusing on small, consistent improvements over time. True success, in my view, is built on strong support systems and positive role models. If I could offer advice, it would be simple: care deeply for every person you encounter, and everything else will fall into place.
