We are beyond thrilled to congratulate our very first Lake Norman Woman of the Year, Alicia Gibson. Alicia’s impact reaches far beyond Lake Norman—she is a business owner, faith leader, and global advocate whose child sponsorship programs have provided clean water, food, and education for over 250 children worldwide. Locally, she’s built partnerships with 16+ nonprofits and continues to mentor countless others with her honor, vision, and generosity.
Lake Norman Woman of the Year Gala: A Night to Remember
The inaugural Lake Norman Woman of the Year Gala was a sold-out celebration of women who lead, serve, and inspire across our community. Hosted at the elegant Brawley Estate in Mooresville, the evening brought together 160 of Lake Norman’s most influential leaders for a night filled with joy, recognition, and connection.
Guests enjoyed a warm cocktail hour, followed by a beautiful dinner program, heartfelt awards ceremony, and dancing late into the evening. Highlights included an exciting silent auction, the always-popular Wine Toss, and the Lake Norman Woman Magazine Cover Booth, which quickly became the hit of the night.
Most importantly, the Gala honored over 100 women who were nominated by family, friends, and colleagues. From those nominations, four finalists were recognized on stage, and the very first Lake Norman Woman of the Year, Alicia Gibson, was crowned for her extraordinary impact locally and globally.
Proceeds from the event benefitted two incredible nonprofit partners—Mooresville Community Children’s Theater and Pharos Parenting—ensuring the celebration continues to uplift women and strengthen families throughout the Lake Norman region.
This unforgettable night marked the beginning of a new tradition, and we can’t wait to celebrate again next year!

Mooresville Community Children’s Theater is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through the magic of live theater. By providing performance and behind-the-scenes opportunities, MCCT helps children build confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills. Their mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where kids can express themselves, discover their talents, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Through workshops, productions, and community involvement, MCCT not only develops future performers and leaders but also strengthens the cultural fabric of Mooresville and the greater Lake Norman area collaboration both on stage and off.
