That’s a Wrap

Wrap Christmas lights around a cardboard paper towel tube to keep them tangle-free, and slip an empty toilet paper roll over the end of your wrapping paper to keep it from unraveling.

Festive and Fragile

For a professional look, attach ornaments to the branches with floral wire so they don’t hang loose or slip off (works great for your tree-topper, too!). Protect fragile ornaments by storing them in plastic cups, and an egg carton works well for smaller baubles.

Party Time

Place small baskets around the room for guests to toss non-food items like gift paper, napkins, and the like; use snack bowls of varying heights and shapes to add visual appeal without appearing cluttered (or use small mason jars for individual snacks—“Jar-cuteries” are fun and festive!); keep a caddy in the corner stocked with wipes, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.

Food for Thought

Freeze herbs, fruit, cranberries, or hard candy in ice cubes to add a spirited touch to holiday cocktails; use muffin tins to bake mini quiches or tarts (adorable, easy, and perfectly portioned); or set up a “build-your-own” dessert bar with cupcakes, cookies, candy, and toppings like chocolate, caramel, and seasonal jellies—guests love the interactive fun!
