Inspiring Change and Empowering Lives
by: Dr. Michelle R. Gilliard, D. Min, MSP, CCC/SLP
In 2008, I embarked on a journey to create a business that would make a positive impact on the lives of others. My inspiration stemmed from a lifelong passion for leadership and service—anchored in a commitment to holistic wellbeing. Over the years, my experiences as a servant leader empowered me to influence both professional and personal spheres, helping clients and community members pursue their own passions.
My mission extends to assisting individuals in spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health awareness. One of my guiding scriptures is Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” This verse serves as a daily reminder to let my efforts and service reflect my faith and purpose.
The journey to establishing and sustaining a business has not been without challenges. As an ambivert—someone who embodies both introverted and extroverted traits—I have had to navigate the delicate balance of advocacy and adaptability. There have been moments when my views were not popular, yet they were necessary. Learning the art of crucial conversations has been instrumental in becoming a strong advocate, especially in times of adversity.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been equipping, empowering, and educating others through shared experiences and testimony. From coaching and teaching in schools to providing guidance within faith-based settings, my impact has reached individuals across all age groups—from preschoolers to a remarkable 101-year-old client. Through my nonprofit’s initiatives, we have hosted 5K runs to promote physical wellbeing, prayer conferences and prayer board parties to nurture spiritual growth, and teen/adult empowerment conferences to support mental and emotional health.
As a woman in leadership, I am passionate about inspiring others to embrace their full potential. I strongly believe in the importance of self-care, prayer, and journaling as tools for personal growth and reflection. Women often take on multiple responsibilities, juggling careers, families, and community obligations, yet neglect the need to pour back into themselves. This realization led me to publish my first prayer journal—a resource designed to inspire and empower women seeking to live a life of virtue, victory, and valor.
Through daily reflections, scripture verses, and guided prayers, this journal encourages women to deepen their connection with God, cultivate a stronger prayer life, and discover their true identity as Women of Valor. My hope is that every woman who crosses my path is inspired to walk confidently in her God-given purpose—embracing her unique strengths and making a meaningful impact in her own community. My journey has been one of service, faith, and perseverance, and I look forward to continuing this mission—one empowered life at a time.
